Best RSS Feed and Fresh Content For Your Blog Website
By - Darren W Chow A blog requires fresh updates on a regular basis. Otherwise,
the content becomes stale and your readers will stop visiting your blog. As a
result, traffic levels will decline, which is never good for the site. There are
many ways you can get fresh content for your blog without your intervention. One
of the best ways to do so is to setup your blog to display an RSS feed. What is an RSS Feed? If you are not familiar with RSS, here is a quick primer. RSS
stands for Really Simple Syndication. As the name suggests, it's an easy method
for sites to syndicate their content. Content based sites like news sites, press
release sites, technology sites always attempt to syndicate their content to
attract a wider readership. They do this by publishing an RSS feed. With the feed, readers who enjoy the content can subscribe to
the feed. A subscriber will see the latest headlines from an RSS reader. An RSS
reader can be a desktop software, or it can be a web based software. Sometimes,
the RSS reader is also known as an RSS aggregator, for it's sole function is to
aggregate all the content feeds. The process of checking for the latest headlines in an
aggregator is very similar to using an email software. You check the latest
titles, and click on the ones that interest you to view the full length
articles. You may also bookmark the articles or delete the articles from your
RSS reader. So how can you make use of the feeds to publish fresh content
on your blog? Usually blogs allow publishing of feeds by installing a third
party plugin or widget. If you are using WordPress to power your blog, all you
need to do is to add a widget to your blog to start displaying feeds. The widget
is added to the sidebar of the blog. Whenever there is new content, the feed
gets updated automatically. So the links on your sidebar always look different.
However, note that using a widget to display a feed does not insert the content
into your blog. If you wish to insert fresh content into the database, you will
need to install a WordPress plugin. Such a plugin is commonly known as "feed WordPress".
This plugin allows the blog owner to add RSS feeds to the back end of the blog.
The plugin will tend check for updates automatically and if new content is
found, the plugin will publish the new content on the blog. Of course, note that
the plugin can only publish an excerpt of the article, as most feeds only
include a brief summary of the original article. You may then configure the
plugin to link back to the original article so that blog readers can click on
the links if they want to read more about the content. To select the best feeds for your blog, try to go to well
known sites such as Yahoo or MSN. These authority sites publish news feeds in
many different categories. Maybe one will be suitable for your blog. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- About The Author: If your new website is lack of quality content, you can
