eBay - A Comparison Between eBay and Amazon

eBay and Amazon are both online shopping sites where buying
and selling takes place. Many people ask which is better eBay or Amazon. The
fact is both sites have there own pros and cons and to help people to get a
better understanding here is a list of comparisons.
1. eBay is popular for auctions and Amazon offers fixed
prices on products. So the question arises which is better?
When it comes to antique products or those products which are
in high demand, eBay is no doubt the best because auctions are a good way to get
the market value of the product.
However, most products are not collectables, these are the
products which people will buy if needed and the chances are they will not
auction for it. In this case Amazon comes in because it offers a fixed price.
2. When it comes to the payment method Amazon has its own
payment system which is called Amazon Payment. Amazon collects the cash and
deposits it in your bank account without charging any fee for it.
eBay members may have to choose a payment method which they
want this could be Pay Pal, collecting cash in person, money order etc. If they
choose Pay Pal fee transfer charges are deducted.
3. When it comes to return policy Amazon buyers are entitled
to a refund if the product does not turn out the way they expected. They can get
their money back within ninety days.
eBay sellers on the other hand are not required to return the
money to the buyer and are free to fight it out with a fee resolution.
4. The sellers and buyers on eBay interact with each other a
lot. Due to high interaction, transactions may take a long time because buyers
may need to constantly ask the sellers about the product.
The same is not the case with Amazon. Buyers expect high
quality services from Amazon sellers and do not need to constantly ask about
their item, if it has been shipped or not.
5. In Amazon sellers cannot target customers in order to
promote their products just like in eBay.
These are a few points of comparison between eBay and Amazon.
There is no question that eBay is best for some items and Amazon is best for
others. Both have their own pros and cons it is up to you to find out which
shopping site is best for you.
