How to Start a Home Based Day Care Business

In this time of economic stress, women are being forced into the
job market. Divorce rates are up, and women with small children are having to
find safe, educational, and affordable day care for their kids. If you love
children, and would really prefer to stay at home, opening a day care business
might be a great idea for you.
The day care business will not only allow you to spend more time
with your own family, and provide an answer for other working mothers, but will
also net you some income. It is not an easy job. Be aware, however, that taking
care of other people's children is not the same as managing your own.
Before embarking on your day care business plan, it might be wise
to give yourself a test run. Volunteer to do some babysitting at your church.
Next, take in a babysitting job in your home. If you still are enthusiastic
about it, the first step would be to find out all the legal details for starting
a day care in your area.
Don't be discouraged if it takes a while to get all your paper
work done and your home in shape for a day care center. Setting up business may
take a while, but the results will be worth it. Now that you have your business
plan in order, you can organize the actual running of your day care center.
Things you have to consider:
• Hours of operation
• A routine must be set up, for the parents and the children.
• Advertise.
• Establish a menu
• Keep a first aid box close by at all times.
• Use the local library or the web to find craft and game ideas
for the children.
This idea for establishing your day care business can be a
fulfilling experience. And you will be helping to shape the lives of young
