One Good Idea Can Change Everything

Do you know
what to do to be successful online? I will bet that question has been asked
about a zillion times in order to create uncertainty and sell products.
While I do
not like that selling technique, the question is valid. Great ideas do create
good businesses when acted upon. Today I share some ideas that worked for me, in
the hope that they can work for you too. Thanks for joining me today.
Have you ever
felt like you just cannot find that one thing that will help you achieve your
goals? There is always an idea to be had that will keep us from thinking we have
missed out on getting ahead ... help us live the life we dream about. And that
thought, the idea that you have missed it, is perhaps the main thing standing
between you and the success you deserve.
Now I am no
Dale Carnegie or Tony Robbins. And the message here is not that 'happy thinking
will fix everything.' The message is twofold.
1. Focus and
action on good ideas creates results.
2. Everyone feels the same way you do.
I will be
candid with you. I still find myself looking for that one great idea. And our
businesses are doing better than ever. This drives my wife nuts. ;)
Almost every
'guru' I speak with feels the same way. Oh, they will acknowledge their past
success, but the majority of their time is spent the same way you spend your
time ... looking for something that works.
The good news
(great news really) is that you are so much closer than it may appear to you
now. All it takes is an idea and some action.
A ship cannot
be turned when it sits by the dock. Give it some movement, just a little
movement will do, and you can steer a giant ship with just a tiny rudder.
Even the most
massive door is completely dependent on the tiniest of hinges to open. Are the
hinges of your life keeping the door of success from opening wide?
Two words
describe them ... ideas and action.
It is just
that simple. As many as 1000 times Thomas Edison fail before successfully
inventing the light bulb, we also must be persistent until we reach our goal of
success. Ideas are the initial point of our success.
In that
light, I have listed some ideas below that have worked for me over the years. In
the five years I have been online I have experienced a range of economic levels.
Since I am not speaking with you personally, and cannot know your level, I have
listed a few for each level. I hope they help.
No Money
* Improve web copy to increase conversion.
* Create a follow up series for your main offering
* Find a program that works for your life
* Introduce the people in your address book to your favorite product
* Start an ezine
* Register for free traffic at traffic exchanges
* Read a 'classic' eBook about how to get started
* Write an ezine article and ask publishers to use it.
Can't write?
Team up with a writer and split the profits.
Some Money
* Do some Pay Per Click Advertising?
* Buy three low-cost ezine ads.
* Start promoting a product that compliments your own products.
Lots of Money
* Create a product that helps people.
Think about
how you got to where you are, write up a book about how you did it, and give it
away.
Here is my
surefire method for deciding what to do next.
1. First start with three of your best ideas.
2. Draw a line through the top two.
3. The one you choose must be done with all your soul.
Okay, I am
kidding a bit. But believe me; getting started is the key, even if you do not
make the perfect choice. You probably know enough right now. To help clarify my
thinking, I always ask myself this question. "If there were one idea I
could pass on to my children, what would it be?" Once I answer that one, I
go out and do it. Start here today, first by developing your best idea and
taking the necessary action to change your results by this time next month. It
will be better.
