Home-Based Freelance Writer

The
home-based freelance writer is a creature of habit: The habit of writing. He
sits and writes, stands and thinks of what he's going to write next, pores over
the day's newspaper in hopes of getting new ideas for articles, stares at his
coffee for inspiration, and puts down at least a thousand words in one day.
Can you do
this? If you're up to it, then go ahead. Pick freelance writing to be your new
career. Remember, the most important thing is getting into the habit of writing.
Even if you're out of ideas, or can't think of anything to write, grab your
laptop and get typing. If you're more comfortable using your pen, then grab your
notepad and start writing. It doesn't have to be Pulitzer-prize material, just
something to warm up your brain.
When you
choose to become a freelance writer, there are a few things that you are going
to have to sacrifice. One of them is not having the security to know where your
next pay is coming from. If you have enough in the bank to pay your bills for
the next six months, then you're good to go. If not, you're still good to go.
After all, business isn't starting off when you're a millionaire, business is
starting off when you're a zeronaire.
The most
important tip that you can get from any freelance writer is this: Stick It Out.
Don't Give Up. It's tough to get into this field, but the rewards are very
sweet. However, freelance writing needs a lot of discipline. Discipline yourself
to sit down and write. As soon as you can do this, you're in business.
The
successful writer will have quite a few tricks up his sleeve which he uses to
gain repeat business. These are tips that every writer eventually learns, and no
