Ezines (Newsletter)

Ezines (electronic magazine) also known as newsletters, are a very effective way to promote your business. Ezines are a publication on a single or multiple topics that are sent out to a list of opt-in subscribers.  

Ezines can be found through a publishers website or in ezine directories. There are hundreds of directories on the web today that put each newsletter into a searchable category.

When you search in directories for newsletters, you will find publishers with a subscriber list from 100 to over 800,000, depending on what directory your using.

Some of these directories are free to use, while others require a small fee. The paid directories are more organized and the easiest to use. They offer quality ezines that are updated more frequently than the free directories. They also provide a large database that you can search for newsletters by the size of circulation, publishers name, category, etc. These features can save you a great deal of time, plus most of these directories will offer support to get you through the process. 

Ezines can benefit your business in two ways, either as a publisher (writing your own newsletter) or advertising in another publishers newsletter. 

Publishing your own newsletter and listing it with several directories can give you added benefits in the following:

Free Ads: Most publishers who offer this type of ad require that you subscribe to their newsletter first before placing a free ad in their newsletter. This ad is usually put at the very bottom of their newsletter and is normally limited to 3 to 5 lines.

Joint ventures are partnerships in which two or more businesses join forces to work together in promoting a product or service. This is done by endorsing the product on their website, in their newsletters or mailings. Each party usually agrees to split a percentage of each sale made through this venture.

The benefit from doing a joint venture is that people have a tendency to respond better to endorsements, rather than buying a product outright.
